Today marks the debut of a new network that brings together socially responsible real estate agents, who are committed to offering something unique.
Under the leadership of Jerry Lyons, who also established the Estate Agent Content Club, the Ethical Agent Network (EAN) begins its journey.
Having spent 14 years working alongside some of the UK’s finest independent estate agencies, Lyons observed a common trait among them: a consistent commitment to integrity in serving their clients, colleagues, and communities.
Witnessing these agencies strive for and maintain ethical standards sparked the concept of creating a network of compatible, non-competing agencies that embodies purpose and fosters a positive culture.
Lyons points out that traditional networks and associations have focused on self-help, leveraging group strength for supplier discounts or referral income. Current industry training methods also seem to be growing stale, with a need for innovative ideas and diverse perspectives.
With the EAN, Lyons aims to shift focus towards continuous self-improvement and community support, and to enhance the client experience, emphasizing life changes over mere address changes.
The EAN offers membership based on six foundational principles:
Educational Classes – Weekly sessions covering various subjects, such as generating Google Reviews, ethical marketing strategies, prospect building, and nurturing strong team dynamics.
Resourceful Content – Weekly distribution of articles, videos, and electronic guides from a leading content creator within the UK estate agency sector.*
Collaborative Forum – Daily opportunities for idea exchange, problem-solving, and lead sharing.
Community Engagement – Regular campaigns designed to simplify agency participation in charitable activities.
Value-aligned Connections – Bringing together agents with similar principles and introducing them to like-minded industry partners, avoiding commissions or referral fees.
Comprehensive Care – Providing tools that support people and the planet while maintaining profitability.
Lyons emphasizes the goal of creating a closely knit, high-caliber group committed to humane, outstanding, and ethically managed profitable businesses, rather than expanding for the sake of appearance.
Entry criteria include having a minimum of 50 Google Reviews with a 4.5-star average, documented community support within the past year, and adherence to the network’s codes of conduct.
Lyons notes the EAN’s unique position as an ethics-focused, selective network that isn’t simply open to any paying agency, opting instead to accept fewer members in pursuit of maintaining standards.
The EAN is launching with 25 founding agencies on board.
The network also has an Advisory Team (A-Team) comprised of accomplished estate and letting agents, among whom are Asad Riaz of Location, Location, Spencer Lawrence of Paramount Properties, and award-winning agency owner Michelle Gallagher.
