Indie Estate Agency, Property Centre, Sets Sights on Expansion following First Acquisition

Operating in Somerset and Bristol, an independent estate agency that serves the Southwest has successfully completed its first acquisition. The six-year-old Taunton-based Property Centre has taken over Kordtards Ltd, previously known as Gibbins Richards Lettings.

Moving to grow its scope in the rental market, The Property Centre has historically been sales-focused but has lately been steering towards expanding its lettings services. This strategy comes on the heels of the agency opening a new office in Bristol.

Charlie Rooke, the operations director at The Property Centre, mentioned that following the agency’s success in Bristol, they looked to enhance their presence in the lettings sector by acquiring an established lettings agency.

The entire workforce of Gibbins Richards Lettings, including 10 employees of the reputable independent agency that manages a variety of residential properties in areas like Bridgwater, Burnham On Sea, Taunton, Wellington, and Wiveliscombe, is now part of The Property Centre’s team.

Rooke revealed that following the takeover of Kordtards Ltd, The Property Centre has plans to continue growing, eyeing the launch of a third branch.

She added, “With branches in both Taunton, where we now offer lettings, and Bristol, we’re thrilled to announce we will soon establish a third location in Bridgwater.”

Dan Saunders, the lettings director at The Property Centre, expressed his excitement over the new additions to the team.

He conveyed how delighted he is to bring experienced professionals onboard, highlighting the positive impact this acquisition will have on the company’s brand. After a few weeks of working with the new team members, he shared his appreciation for the rapid growth and his respect for Marc Richards, the former proprietor of Gibbins Richards Lettings.
