A Peek Inside Amanda Holden and Alan Carr’s Second One-Euro House Makeover

Amanda Holden and Alan Carr are back on our televisions with season two of “Amanda & Alan’s Italian Job” this January. They’ve returned to Italy and tackled a new fixer-upper in the Tuscan hills, much like their first project.

The first season brought them to Sicily, where they turned two one-euro houses into a stunning two-bedroom abode. This time, they’re in mainland Italy, in the small village of Fornovolasco with a population south of a hundred, nestled near the picturesque Turrite di Petrosciana river and mountains.

Their impact is clear: Rightmove shows a 40% uptick in searches for Tuscany homes and a whopping 60% increase for Lucca since the January show premiere, signalling boosted interest over last year.

Tim Bannister, from Rightmove, has observed a notable jump in location searches when particular programs air, underscoring the public’s fascination with the region and renovation prospects.

Alan and Amanda’s First Renovated Tuscan Home, Now Up for Sale

Amanda and Alan’s renovated riverside house in Tuscany is on the market with Dimore Toscane. The sale proceeds will benefit UK charities, just like their previous project.

The new Casa Alamanda II owners will be greeted with a modern kitchen featuring a marble island, an adjoining herb garden, and a cosy outdoor seating setup. The home boasts exquisite Renaissance-inspired mural art in the bedroom and bathrooms and retains its original wood floors, beams, and tiles.

Roy Santi from Dimore Toscane describes this renovated property as a gem with impressive river and mountain views, respecting traditional Tuscan rural housing aesthetics.

Details About Italy’s One-Euro Home Initiative

The duo secured a three-story Tuscan home for just a euro through the Italian scheme aiming to revamp abandoned properties. Buyers commit to restoring the homes and submit their plans within a year as regulated by the local authorities, who also determine the renovation timeline.

Despite this being their second undertaking after series one, the buildings need significant work, but they are eager to rejuvenate another home.
